Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a form of therapy that uses art as a relaxation tool as well as a communication tool for your emotions and experiences. Art therapy is not only an excellent therapeutic practice for children but also for adults who may find it difficult to put their feelings into words. My most common first statement that I get from clients is "I am not good at art".  Well, neither am I! :P It might be surprising that an 'art therapist' isn't 'good at art' but the truth is, we do not have to be amazing at art to start creating. Besides, art is subjective. What is good and what is bad is only your inner-critic speaking. Art therapy utilizes creativity as a way to express yourself. Observing your finished artwork can bring many opportunities to reflect and find insight into your world and emotions.

There are no previous artistic skills required to start art therapy. Since I currently only offer virtual sessions I do require that you have at least basic art materials (minimum: Pen and Paper). I will work with whatever material you have at home to plan a meaningful therapeutic experience for you. If you are unsure if art therapy is the right fit for you, please ask me any question through Contact Form. We can also start with more traditional talk-therapy which you can learn more through Psychotherapy.
